Rains down in Africa as a theatre production made no sense to me. The majority of it was just watching whatever was projected onscreen, which were either messily compiled videos of nothing or cameos of other Fringers, alienating the audience and making us feel as though we had paid 10 dollars to watch one big inside joke. The plot itself is lacking in originality, and with the minimalistic set and two soft-spoken leads, RDIA seems is so physically unblocked, the whole production feels like it was thrown together without any rehearsals whatsoever. And why is there no actual singing?
