Funny and charming, a rare gorgeous voice. Go and see this lady, you won't regret it!
The title drew me to the show, and the fact that I had heard she can actually sing - and so she can and then some! This lady was enchanting for the entire show. I laughed, I fell in love with her music, laughed some more, and walked out feeling inspired and happy! I don't expect it will be long before she's at the Junos! Recommended :)
I'm pretty sure my heart's been taken! Aspen is such a fresh face in the sea of fringe - she's a great performer who is clearly not new to being infront of an audience. She has this natural charm as she stands up on stage, she really does take you with her. Smush me up and take me with you in your suitcase Aspen! Oh, and for the rest of you, go see this show! I saw a matinee show, which can sometimes be less energetic due to small audiences, but hers was still high energy and fun and funny!
Take You With Me was the perfect end to my Fringe day. Honest, fun, and occasionally full of hand-stands, this is a really special show. What I love most about the Fringe is that it creates a real opportunity for artists to play in and outside of their artforms. For all of her concern about being a musician at a theatre fest, she totally embodies this Fringe ideal, and she is so charming as she does so! Her music is awesome, and through it all, you get a really clear picture of this wonderful performer. See it before she goes on tour again!
I saw this show after seeing some reviews - top 10 twice in the gazette, and one of the best of the festival on indyish.com http://www.indyish.com/montreal-fringe-reviews-some-fantastic-shows-to-s...
And they were right! This is a unique, fun, humourous, beautiful, inspiring show with a lady who has a beautiful voice and an uncanny honesty. I agree with Indyish.com. Best of the festival!
Don't miss it! Beautiful voice: Smart, funny and heart-warming.
Aspen is going to win a Juno in a few years -- just wait and see!
WOW! Go see this show. She has so much talent, I cannot explain what you are missing if you don't see this show. She is so charming and fun, but most noteable is her voice. She really can sing!
Wow! I wanted her to take me with her, wherever, anywhere, as long as she kept playing, singing, talking and generally amusing me to no end. This lady, from somewhere called Nelson BC I believe, writes songs about hockey (for the cbc no less), teaches you how to 'fringe your show' and gives competent demonstrations of acrobatic prowess. Definitely recommended.
Aspen Switzer has a stunningly captivating voice and her show is utterly charming. Watching 'Take you with me' is like playing with puppies, watching rainbows, and listening to laughing babies all rolled into one. I left the show filled with happiness and joy.
I can't quite explain how or why, but I just fell in love with her. It's a combination of her voice and her humour and her absolute honesty while she's on stage. I left last night feeling like I actually know her - and oh how I wish I did!
Aspen has a clear and beautiful voice that you'll follow with eyes wide and jaw slackened. When you're not giggling along with her as she unreservedly tells some humbling story of heartbreak, or while she roasts some cad from her past (sometimes, to the delight of everyone, he's in the audience), she's churning out and lighting up lyrics that'll make a hard-nosed man's man sigh longingly for that girl that he was too shy to dance with.
Make sure that Aspen's is one of the show you don't miss this year.
This is such a good show! It wasn't on my radar until I saw it was rated as a top ten in the Gazette, so I decided to go and I'm glad I did. She is a remarkable singer! It's actually quite shocking when she starts singing how beautiful her voice is. And she's also funny! I recommend this show to anyone who likes to: Laugh, Watch hot girls sing and/or See hot girls' underwear... need I say more.
Loved this girl, such charisma, compelling attractiveness, charm and honesty. Her song writing is profound and authentic, her voice stunning and pure and her personal anecdotes are hilarious! Can't wait to see her show again.
This girl is so cute! She is a startling great singer and she is so funny and charming the show is over much to soon. And she does this fun stunt where you get to see her underwear! This is a Fringe must!
If you like good music, good laughs, and possibly seeing up a pretty girls dress, go see this show!
I saw this show yesterday.
I didn't really know what to expect with it being music and all, but HOLY COW...! It rocked. This girl Aspen has such a pretty voice. She's a little bit folk, a little bit country, and a little bit rock. Loved it.
Her stories leading up to her music were hilarious. I would recommend this show to every Fringer. It's got my vote for pick of the fringe.
PS - She's easy on the eyes too. "whistle whistle."
Seriously, where has she been this whole time and why haven't I heard of her sooner? I can't wait to see Take You With Me again! I can't even explain how beautiful and fun and remarkable it is - and she is!!!
Wow! Funny, heart warming, dynamic: you have got to see this show!
After seeing the opening of Aspen Switzer's 'Take you with me', a magical, simple blend of folk, storytelling, and miscellaneous Fringe accoutrements, I have decided to propose.
Don't miss this beautiful show!
Aspen Switzer? More like Asmazing Switzerful.
To put it simply, this show was amazing. It was much more than I expected because I went for the singing and didn't realize it was so much more than that! That girl is an entertainer! She's funny and honest and makes it feel like you're not at her show as much as you're just hanging out with her. She has an amazing voice too! Oh, and we even got to see her underwear:)
To put it simply, this show was amazing. Aspen's voice was incredible, but beyond that, she is quite the entertainer! A charming presence on stage with many fringe-tailored tricks up her sleeve. There will be many surprises, both musically and visually. Don't miss out!
This show was a happy surprise. Aspen is genuine, sweet, vulnerable and completely charming. Her voice is incredibly pretty and her songs are well-crafted. The show is mostly music, but succeeds in being more truthful and engaging than most theatre you're liable to find at the fringe. Well worth the price of admission. I left smiling and humming.
There are many good folk singers out there and Aspen Switzer is definitely one of them. She has an incredibly pure soprano, and her lyrics, are pure, honest, and incredibly prevalent. But she stands out from many folk acts I've seen. She is incredibly charming and fun to watch whether she is singing or just telling stories of her childhood in Nelson, BC. With song, poetry, acrobatics, slight nudity, story telling, jokes, audience sing-alongs and participation, she delivers a fun, delightfully entertaining show.
A definite must see!
Even Jeremy Hechtman was raving about it!
Aspen is absolutely charming and lovely. Her lyrics are sweet and clever and apt. We went through a whole spectrum of feelings, laughed and cried and talked about it for quite awhile afterwards.
Go see this lady!
this girl is the the real thing, not a wannabee but a true talent.
Sincere, satirical, a joy for the senses, go see her her show before she becomes too big for the Fringe
