TUNING VENUS, a one-act play staring Amy Lee Lavioe & Michael Broadhurst, thoughtfully breathes life into the world of a strange and emotionally fragile young housewife who spends an afternoon desperately clinging to 'acting the part' with her most recently summoned visitor; the traveling piano tuner - who really has no idea what he is in for.
I loved this play.
I found myself quickly sucked into Mrs. intimate web of scheming deception and little word deaths as she longingly attempts to build a better mouse-trap for her man of the hour.
Amy Lee's performance is as spellbinding and flawless as the play itself. This is the first I've seen of Michael Broadhurst, who matched her energy and commanded the stage in his own right.
It's intriguing, it's compelling, it's funny, it's sexy and it's completely worth your time.
