Dear Artists,
The Canadian Association of Fringe Festival members are providing performing companies with the opportunity to secure all of their Fringe Festivals in a one-stop application process. The CAFF Touring Artist Application category provides you with an early chance to secure your 2010 CAFF Festival tour. There are 10 applications drawn by lottery. The Touring category is open to all performing companies but you must participate in a minimum of 5 CAFF Fringe Festivals.
Please read this information carefully. If you have questions contact: producer@londonfringe.ca
The Basics:
Complete the attached application form in full. Select the Fringe Festivals that you want.
Add up your fees and submit a certified cheque, money order or credit card number with the application. Your fee payment will only be cashed/charged to your credit card if you are one of the lucky lottery winners.
There is a $25.00 (CDN) non-refundable application processing fee due when you submit your application. If you are paying by cheque (or money order), include a separate cheque (or money order). If you are paying by credit card we will charge your account.
No application fee payment will be cashed, or credit card number charged, until after the lottery is held. Applicants must select a minimum of 5 festivals.
Submit the completed application form to the London Fringe Theatre Festival by the deadline of 5pm (EST) on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
A lottery will be held on Thursday, October 29 in London. Ten applications will be drawn (5 Canadian companies and 5 international companies). These ten companies will be automatically confirmed in all the festivals they selected. All applicants will be notified by e-mail of the lottery results by Monday, November 2, 2009.
If you are lucky enough to be drawn in the lottery, your information will be sent to each Fringe that you selected. You will receive an application form from each festival you selected and you must fill it out and return it as requested.
If a company withdraws from a festival(s) and is then only participating in four or fewer events, they will be withdrawn from all festivals.
Withdrawal fee refunds are subject to the policies and procedures of each individual Fringe Festival.
Performing companies are responsible for securing their own work permits, visas, tax waivers to enter Canada and the United States. The Festivals will provide assistance and information on these issues.
If you are not drawn in the touring application lottery, you are still able to apply to individual Fringe Festivals (check each festival’s individual website for application deadlines, available through www.fringefestivals.com ).
NOTE: Some festivals have fee variations for artist fees (based on running time, venue size, number of performances you select, etc.). Those Fringes that have fee variations are indicated with an asterisk (*). The fee listed in the application form is an average fee. Depending on choices you make with these festivals, your fee may be a bit more or less than that listed on the touring application form. Please contact the individual festivals to get the most up to date information on the different fees and what they provide.
We hope you find this application category helpful and if you have any questions please contact us at the London Fringe Festival at producer@londonfringe.ca.
Good luck!
